Role: Learning Experience Designer

Length: Multi-module portal
Context

The Problem

Orientation modules for community placement students did not fully address diverse learning needs, particularly for students with disabilities, leaving some learners unprepared for placement.

Constraints

Design Challenges

  • Accessibility: Content had to work for learners with a wide range of abilities.
  • Diverse backgrounds: Students arrived with different levels of experience and confidence.
  • Engagement: Orientation content often felt administrative rather than supportive.
Deliverable

The Solution

I redesigned the orientation portal using Design Thinking and Gagné's 9 Events of Instruction. Prototypes in Figma became modular, accessible Rise 360 learning paths, while Canva supported visual assets that guide students from pre-placement preparation to on-site expectations.

Process

How I Built It

I conducted learner and stakeholder analysis, mapped the placement journey, iterated on Figma prototypes with accessibility in mind, and developed modular Rise 360 content supported by Canva visuals, aligned with each of Gagné's instructional events.
